
Women 6th Men 9th at Texas A&M Meet

In the first meet this season with both the Sam Houston cross country men and women running complete teams, the Bearkats posted top 10 finishes at the Texas A&M Invitational Saturday in College Station.
The women placed sixth in a field of 10 teams with 153 points. Lamar won the 4100 meter women's race with a score of 45 points.
Baylor (57) was the runner-up followed by Texas A&M (71), Stephen F. Austin (87), Texas Tech (105), Sam Houston (153), Texas State (219), A&M-Corpus Christi (232), Houston Baptist (255) and Texas-Pan American (289).
The men finished ninth. Host Texas A&M (54 points) won the men's 6,000 meter race. Lamar (56) was second followed by Stephen F. Austin (94), Texas Tech (95), Baylor (104), A&M-Corpus Christi (164), Central Arkansas (180), Texas State (210), Sam Houston (262), Houston Baptist (278) and Texas-Pan American (284).
Olivia Olguin was the SHSU women's top finisher with a 19th place time of 15:04. Other women's finishers were Miranda Prado (25) 15:16, Ana Moreno (29) 15:22, Nicole Aponte (35) 15:31, Cassidy Allen (45) 15:49 and Nina Gonzales (52) 16:25.
Grant Buley led the Bearkat men with a 35th place finish and a time of 19:24. Other SHSU men's finishes were Karl Schreiber (36) 19:25, Ryan Saam (60) 20:03; Logan Terry (65) 20:20; Colton Stoker (66), 20:22; Patrick Pitts (68) 20:34; Evan Arambula (71) 21:10 and John Bounds (75) 21:23.
The women's individual champion at the Texas A&M meet was the Aggies Hilary Montgomery with a time of 13:45. First place in the men's race went to Isaac Spencer of A&M with a mark of 18:18.
