Two Kats named NSCAA Scholar All-Region

Sam Houston State soccer players Kylie Hambleton and Shelby McDaniel were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Scholar All-South Region Honorable Mention team.
The pair were both named to the Southland All-Conference and All-Academic teams this season.
McDaniel, a junior midfielder and first-team All-Southland honoree, has compiled a 3.32 grade point average as a general business major. The junior plays as the main creative force in the midfield for Sam Houston. She scored five goals and dished out two assists. McDaniel started all but one game this season.
A two-time All-Academic honoree, Hambleton posted a 3.92 GPA in Management Information Systems. The junior goalkeeper had a great end to the season with five shutouts in the final six regular-season games. Hambleton earned Honorable Mention All-Southland Honors.
