Sam Houston In Top 10 In Both Polls

Sam Houston remains at No. 9 in the STATS FCS rankings and stands No. 10 in the FCS Coaches poll.
Since Sept. 9, 2011, Sam Houston has been ranked among the top 25 FCS teams 56 times in 63 weekly polls. The Kats have stood in the top 10 in 38 of those weeks.
The Bearkats own a four-game winning streak after a 49-21 victory at Abilene Christian last Saturday. Sam Houston leads the nation in scoring with 49.3 points per game and ranks No. 2 in FCS total offense with 579.7 yards per contest. The Bearkats have outscored their last four opponents (Houston Baptist, Stephen F. Austin and UIW) 119-52.
Each week a national panel of sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries select the STATS FCS Top 25. A group of head coaches from each FCS conference votes on the coaches' poll.
The Top 25 is released every Monday afternoon during the regular season, except for Sunday morning, Nov. 22, prior to the selection of the 24-team FCS playoff field. A final Top 25 will follow the FCS championship game, which will be held Jan. 9 in Frisco, Texas.
