A&M-Corpus Christi wins in three sets

Jordyn Vaughn led Sam Houston with eight kills as Southland Conference leader Texas A&M-Corpus Christi handed the Bearkats a 26-24 25-22 25-14 three-set volleyball loss Saturday afternoon in Corpus Christi.
Ivy Baresh led the Islanderrs with 11 kills. A&M-Corpus Christi totaled 43 kills as a team with 18 errors in 135 attempts. The Bearkats totaled 32 kills and 23 errors in 135 attempts.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi remains unbeaten in Southland play with a 12-0 league record. The Islanders are 24-4 for the year. Sam Houston dropped to 11-15 for the season and 5-7 in Southland action.
Taylor Cunningham, Brooke White and Shelby Genung each added five kills for the Kats. Jaclyn Ward assisted on 26 kills in her first college start. Libero Claire Kilpatrick led the defense with 19 digs while Breanna Homer added 16.
Sam Houston continues its Southland Conference road swing next week with road trips to Southeastern Louisiana and New Orleans.
