Hall Added To CSP FCS Defensive Watch List

Sam Houston sophomore defensive end P. J. Hall is one of 30 players who have been included on College Sports Performance's 2015 FCS Defensive Lineman of the Year watch list.
Hall, who earned FCS All-America honors and was named as Southland Conference “Freshman of the Year” following the Bearkats' 2014 conference championship season, has been a defensive leader for Sam Houston in the team's current six-game winning streak.
In last week's 38-24 victory over A&M-Commerce, Hall totaled three tackles for losses including a pair of quarterback sacks. He also blocked a Lion field goal attempt.
For the season the Seguin product has been credited with eight tackles for 36 yards in losses and five quarterback sacks. With three regular season games left in Hall's sophomore season, he now stands third in Sam Houston career tackles for loss with 39, only 10 away from the school record of 49 set by Andre Finley from 1986 to 1989.
Next up for the Bearkats is a showdown with Southland Conference leader McNeese State Saturday at 6 p.m. in Lake Charles, La. The Cowboys come into the contest ranked No. 5 in the nation while Sam Houston stands No. 7. The game will be telecast on ESPN3.
