The Colonels totaled eight hits, adding one more run in both the second and third inning. Nicholls pitcher Hannah Haydel allowed the Kats only two hits.
Sam Houston's only run came in the bottom of the fifth inning as Slater reached first on an error and a pair of walks loaded the bases. Adams ground ball to third base scored Slater.
