SHSU vs McNeese State Tuesday at 6:30 PM

After a weekend sweep at the hands of Louisiana-Monroe, the Bearkats will host McNeese State in hopes of rebounding, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. It will be 50 Cent Hot Dog Night at Don Sanders Stadium.
Sam Houston was originally scheduled to play two midweek games but Wednesday's game at Baylor has been postponed due to weather. The game will be made up March 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Waco. The new date will see the teams face off on back-to-back days with the Kats hosting the Bears March 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The Bearkats (5-7) and McNeese State (8-4) will not meet in Southland play for the second consecutive season but will play a lone midweek tilt. Last season the Bearkats swept a home-and-home midweek series with the Cowboys.
McNeese has had a streaky start to the season. After opening the year 4-0 the Cowboys dropped their next four contests. A 17-inning midweek win over Louisiana-Lafayette and a three-game sweep of Texas-San Antonio have MSU riding another four-game winning streak.
As a team, McNeese is hitting .278, with 46 runs, five homers and 16 stolen bases through 12 games. On the mound, the Pokes have a 3.15 ERA, which ranks second in the league, along with five saves, walking 36 and striking out 114 in 117.0 frames of work, posting a .976 fielding percentage.
SHSU has fared much better within the friendly confines of Don Sanders Stadium, posting a 3-1 record. The Kats have batted .370 as a team and have a staff ERA of 2.75.
