
Kaheem Ransom Earns NABC All-District Honor

Kaheem Ransom of Sam Houston State has been named to the 2014-15 National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division I All-District team.
The 6-1 senior guard from Wichita, Kansas, helped lead the Bearkats to a 26-9 record, the finals of the Southland Conference Tournament in Katy, a second consecutive appearance in NCAA post-season play in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament and a runner-up finish in the Southland regular season.
The 26 victories stand as the most in one season by a Sam Houston squad in the university's 28 years at the NCAA Division I level. Ransom totaled 348 points and 154 rebounds, starting in every game for the Bearkats this season. He was an All-Southland Conference third team selection.
Joining Ransom on the NABC All-District 23 squad with Jalan West of Northwestern State, Thomas Walkup of Stephen F. Austin, Denzel Livingston of Incarnate Word, John Jordan of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Zeek Woodley of Northwestern State, Desharick Guidry of McNeese State, Ladarius Tabb of Alabama A&M and Rashawn Thomas of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Ransom scored in double figures in 19 games during the 2014-15 season including a season best of 19 points in a victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. A two-year letterman who joined the Bearkats as a transfer from Seward County Community College in Wichita, Kansas, Ransom completed his Sam Houston career with 754 points in 70 games.
