
Get to know senior keeper Magen Ross

Each week leading up to the 2015 Sam Houston State soccer season, we'll spotlight one of 10 seniors. As a unit, the class has helped vault the Kats into a consistent competitor in the Southland Conference. Last season, the Kats posted their highest win total in league play at 8-2-1 and took second. With nine starters and 15 letter winners returning in 2015, SHSU seeks its first conference title in program history.
Today's interview features senior Magen Ross. A season ago, the Justin product logged two starts for the Kats, posting a 1-1 record. On Friday, Ross shut out shut out Texas Southern in the squad's final tune-up of the 2015 season.
Question: Who is your favorite soccer player?
Ross: Alex Morgan
Question: What is your favorite soccer memory?
Ross: My favorite will be when we win conference this year!
Question: Any favorite television show?
Ross: Who has time to follow a TV show? If I am watching TV it is usually Dateline or Criminal Minds.
Question: If you could visit anywhere, where would it be?
Ross: Fiji
Question: What is your favorite thing about Sam Houston State?
Ross: My teammates
Question: If you didn't play soccer, what sport would you be playing?
Ross: I would be on the rodeo team
Question: Any pregame superstitions?
Ross: Nope! I am pretty laid back before games!
Question: What music pumps you up to play?
Ross: Anything up beat works for me!
Question: What are your personal goals heading into the season?
Ross: I want to get on the field and play.
Question: What are your hobbies?
Ross: Is studying a hobby? Just kidding! I love to read when I have any free time.
Question: What is your favorite food?
Ross: Chocolate anything! I have the biggest sweet tooth!

Ross: Pinterest

Ross: Christmas
Question: In three words, how would you describe yourself?
Ross: I am motivated.
Question: What advice would you give to younger players?
Ross: Enjoy the journey. It is easy to get caught up in who is playing and the rankings but the best memories come during the journey from the first day as a freshman to the last game as a senior. Take it all in because one day all that will matter is the memories you have made and the family you have gained!
