Week 1: Kats coming together as season begins

Hello there! My name is Allie Johnson and I will be writing a journal with weekly posts about being a student-athlete for the soccer team here at Sam Houston State University.
This week, we have been preparing for our first non-conference game on Friday. The practices have been tough but only because we are expecting big things this season. Pre-season is fun because we have some of the most friendly and funny people on our team to keep us constantly entertained on and off the field. It's very hard to have a bad day when you're surrounded by girls who have grown to become some of your best friends!
After dinner with the team last night, we all went over to Shelby and Katie's apartment to watch the Bachelor Pad. After we finished that show, we headed to the movies! You'd think that we'd get tired of each other after spending almost all day together, but on most nights you're most likely going to find us all at someone's apartment!
Our team chemistry off the field really influences how we play on the field. It really makes a difference and has proved to show that we play so well together because we are all so incredibly close with one another on and off the field.
