"Century Season Microsite" Debuts Online

CENTURY SEASON MICROSITE
As part of the celebration of the 100th year of Sam Houston football, a special “Century Season Microsite” is now online, allowing fans to relive some of the most pivotal moments in the university's gridiron history.
Special features include a “Then and Now” comparison of Sam Houston's early days of football to the modern era including uniforms and equipment, team size and season length, a “Century Snapshots” collection of exciting photos spanning the 100 years of Sam Houston football and an overall history of the program.
Sam Houston fielded its first football team in 1912 and the sport has been continuous at the university except for the war years of 1918 (World War I) and 1943, 1944 and 1945 (World War II).
The new “Century Season” 30-second video spot also is featured on the side. Fans also may order tickets to Bearkat games and Sam Houston officially licensed Century Season Bearkat Gear on the site.
The 2015 “100th Season” begins Saturday Sept. 5 when the Bearkats travel to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech. The Kats will play six home games at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium in Huntsville. Season tickets for home games plus the 90th “Battle of the Piney Woods” at NRG Stadium in Houston are available on line at www.gobearkats.com or at the Athletic Ticket Office located on the West Side of Bowers Stadium.
