Michelle Griffith Named Preseason All-Southland

Sam Houston setter Michelle Griffith has been named as a first team selection on the 2015 volleyball preseason All-Southland Conference honor squad.
The league's head coaches vote on the preseason all-Southland team each August.
Griffith, a junior science and nutrition major from The Woodlands / College Park High School, earned both first team All-Southland and Academic All-Conference honors last year as she helped lead the Bearkats to a third place league finish.
The Kats' starting setter every match, Griffith talled 10.89 assists per set including season-high 58 against High Point on Sept. 20. She posted eight kills against Central Arkansas on Oct. 18 and seven against Houston on Sept. 13 … recorded double-digit digs 15 times.
Sam Houston opens the 2015 schedule Friday and Saturday August 28 and 29 by hosting the annual Bearkat Volleyball Invitational at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
