HBU Game Sept. 26 On Fox College Sports Central

The Sam Houston versus Houston Baptist football game Saturday Sept. 26 will be telecast live nationally on Fox College Sports Central.
Kickoff time for the game at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium in Huntsville is 6 p.m. The game also will be shown on DirecTV Channel 608-1 and Dish Channel 448.
The telecast will mark the 42nd appearance for the Bearkat football team on either regional or national television since the start of the 2011 season. Seventeen of those appearances have been national telecasts.
“The national and regional exposure for our football team during the past five seasons has done so much to focus attention both on Sam Houston State University and Huntsville,” Bearkat Director of Athletics Bobby Williams said. “We are excited for this opportunity to showcase both the university and the community to fans across the country on Fox College Sports.”
Sam Houston is ranked No. 3 in the STATS FCS national rankings and No. 5 in the NCAA FCS Coaches Poll this week. The Bearkats are defending Southland Conference football champions and are one of only three programs in the country that have earned FCS playoff berths each of the past four years.
Saturday Sept. 26 is Bearkat Family Weekend presented by Bill Fick Ford at Bowers Stadium.
This weekend, when Sam Houston opens its 30th season of football at Bowers Stadium with "Orange Out" against Lamar University, the game is being regionally telecast by American Sports Network. KPRC-DT2 in Houston (Suddenlink channel 130 in Huntsville) is the local outlet for the game.
