Kats' 105 Fall Honor Roll Members Tops League

Sam Houston's fall sports teams produced 105 student-athletes who have been named to the 2015 fall semester Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The Bearkats and Central Arkansas tied for leadership of the academic honor roll. UCA also had 105 student-athletes on the list. The league's Academic Honor Roll acknowledges participants in all sports sponsored by the Southland Conference and its member institutions. The conference sports whose championships were decided during the fall semester included football, volleyball, men's and women's cross country and soccer.

The honor roll is released within 30 days at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters, recognizing student-athletes who maintained a minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) during the semester in which their sport's championship competition occurred.

Sam Houston's honor roll members include 21 student-athletes who posted perfect 4.0 fall semester grade point averages. The group included Katelyn Bunch, Kylie Dick, Katie Ferrara, Kylie Hambleton, Ashley Long, Shelby McDaniel-Braud, Megan Ross and Whitney Woodard from soccer; Nicole Aponte, Evan Arambula, Kassandra Luna and Alina Ward from cross country; Lachlan Edwards, Jessie Harris, Ragan Henderson, josh Reynolds and Doak Workman from football and Amanda Gooch, Michelle Griffith, Claire Kilpatrick and Natalie Nevlud from volleyball.
