Complete STATS FCS Top 25 Poll
HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Sam Houston State Bearkats maintained their No. 1 ranking in the STATS FCS top 25 on Monday, picking up seven more first-place votes after its 38-21 win over Nicholls on Saturday in Thibodaux.
The Bearkats captured 120 of the poll's 163 first-place votes after getting 113 votes last week while moving into the nation's top spot. In all, each of the first nine spots in the poll maintained their position with Jacksonville State, Eastern Washington, North Dakota State and The Citadel rounding out the top five behind the Bearkats.
Sam Houston is not the only Southland Conference team to find itself in the top 25 as Central Arkansas checked in at No. 19 after a 22-12 win at Lamar for their fifth consecutive victory since a loss to Samford.
The Kats will put that number one ranking on the line at home this Saturday when they step out of conference to host Texas Southern. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. from Bowers Stadium.
