HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Aurimas Majauskas became the 24th Bearkat to reach 1,000 points for a career and Sam Houston State won its fifth straight game, 119-81, on Monday night at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.

Majauskas entered the night needing 17 points to reach the plateau and finished with 18 points on the night as one of six Bearkats (9-3) in double figures. It was the most points by a Bearkats team since the 2005-06 season.

Dakarai Henderson provided a big spark in the opening 20 minutes, pumping in 14 of his 18 points in the first half with four of Sam's seven triples, including three on three consecutive possessions at one point of the period.

The Kats shot 48.6 percent in the opening half, but hit 18-for-22 from the foul line and forced 10 turnovers to take a 61-46 lead into the break.

Majauskas did most of his damage from the foul line, hitting all 10 of his shots from the charity stripe and eight in the first half before reaching the 1,000-point mark with a three-point play with just over eight minutes remaining in the game.

Sam Houston poured it on offensively in the second half, hitting better than 65 percent of its shots from the field and finishing a 27-for-33 at the foul line with a season-high 10 three-point baskets.
