Grow The Growl events continue during spring

Sam Houston State Athletics' Grow the Growl student attendance initiative continues later this month with the Feb. 20 basketball double-header. Athletics has one again partnered with several departments across campus for four “Grow the Growl” events in the spring semester.
Students who attend all four events will be eligible for the grand prize: a $2,500 scholarship courtesy of the College of Criminal Justice. The four events in the spring are:
1. Women's basketball on Thursday, January 21st @ 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by Mass. Comm. Free foam paws provided to students
2. Basketball double-header on Saturday, February 20th starting at 2:00 p.m. Sponsored by Rec. Sports, Student Money Management Center, and Bearkat OneCard. Grow the Growl t-shirts provided to the first 100 students in attendance
3. Softball on Tuesday, March 29th @ 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by Student Legal Services. Spirit Bands provided to the first 100 students in attendance
4. Baseball on Friday, April 22nd @ 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by SHSU Online. Sunglasses to be given away
To be eligible for the grand prize, students must swipe their Bearkat OneCard at all four events. The winner will be determined following the baseball game on April 22nd. Only students returning for the following semester will be eligible for the grand prize. There will be a special presentation at halftime of the women's basketball game on January 21st to recognize the winner of the $2,500 scholarship in the Fall, Chelsea Page, along with College of Criminal Justice representatives.
