Briscoe Named To FCS QB Watch List

Sam Houston quarterback Jeremiah Briscoe has been included as one of the 10 FCS “Quarterbacks To Watch” for the upcoming 2016 season in an article by Craig Haley on AthlonSports.com.
The junior from Houston / Stratford High School passed for 1,012 yards and eight touchdowns during Sam Houston's four games in the NCAA Division I Championships playoffs as the Bearkats reached the semifinals for the fourth time in five years.
Splitting time at quarterback last year, Briscoe ranked seventh in the Southland with 134.5 yards per game in the air. He threw for 14 touchdowns during the season.
“Briscoe better fits the Bearkats' offense,” Athlon Sports said. “He was impressive in the playoffs coming off the bench to lead the Kats to victories over Southern Utah and McNeese and starting the quarterfinals and semifinals.”
Six quarterbacks who claimed first-team all-conference honors and another three who had second-team accolades headline the competitive group of quarterbacks across the 125-school FCS.
Other players on the list of the FCS “Quarterbacks to Watch” on Athlon include Aaron Bailey, Northern Iowa; Dillon Buechel, Duquesne; Case Cookus, Northern Arizona; Brady Gustafson, Montana; KD Humphries, Murray State; Eli Jenkins, Jacksonville State; Kyle Lauletta, Richmond; Peter Pujals, Holy Cross and Alek Torgersen, Penn.
