Baseball holding walk-on tryouts Sept. 2

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State baseball program will hold walk-on tryouts Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. from Don Sanders Stadium. The tryout will start promptly at 4 o'clock, so participants should be timely to check in and complete paper work with athletic trainer Amy Van Horn.
In order to tryout, participants must have all of the following:
· Proof of physical from within the last year
· Insurance card
· Enrolled as a full-time at Sam Houston's Huntsville campus (12 hours)
The Bearkats are coming off a historic season, becoming the first team in program history to win both the Southland Conference regular-season and tournament title in the same year.
The 40-plus win campaign was the third in the last five years while the program's NCAA Regional appearance was the seventh in the last 10 seasons. The squad returns 23 of 29 players entering the upcoming season.
