Football hosting walk-on tryouts Aug. 24

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State football program will host walk-on tryouts next Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. in the Field House Team Meeting Room, located downstairs.
Attendees will need to bring cleats and workout shoes. Additionally, participants are expected to bring and/or have met the following requirements:
· Enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours) at Sam Houston's Huntsville campus and have a hard copy of the schedule
· Paperwork showing a physical has been conducted within the last year
· Current health insurance card
· Registered online with NCAA Clearinghouse
The Bearkats have made five consecutive trips to the NCAA playoffs including four to at least the semifinals round. The team is ranked second nationally entering the upcoming campaign and has won 56 games over the previous five season – the most of any Division I program in Texas.
