Kats to compete in Houston this weekend

HOUSTON – The fourth-ranked Bearkat bowling team will be back in action on Friday in the SFA invitational in Houston.
It will be the second consecutive tournament for the Bearkats in the state of Texas and the fourth time they have competed in their home state this season.
“I think it was important for us to be able to stay close to home,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “It is such a long season, especially in the spring, so for us to stay close to home for the first two tournament of the semester is big.”
The Field
This is another loaded field the Kats will be competing in, with 17 of the 24 teams currently ranked in the top 25, including 9 of the top 10 teams.
“We will have an opportunity to pick up some key wins this weekend,” Hagen said. “This is another good field, and we have to come out and perform like we have all season.”
The Schedule
Friday, Feb. 10 - Five baker style matches, starting at 9:30 a.m. (No. 10 Sacred Heart, No. 21 Alabama Birmingham, No. 3 McKendree, No 24 Youngstown State and Nol 14 Wisconsin-Whitewater)
Saturday, Feb. 11 - Five traditional team matches, starting at 9:25 a.m. (Nol. 12 Monmouth, No. 8 Delaware State, No. 18 North Carolina A&T, Lincoln Memorial and No. 17 LIU-Brooklyn)
Sunday, Feb. 12 - Three best-of-seven baker style bracket matches, starting at 8:30 a.m.
