Bearkat bowlers earn All-CUSA honors

DALLAS — Sam Houston landed three players on the All-Conference USA bowling teams, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Breana Chewens and Miya Greene were named to the third team for the Bearkats who are set to compete in the NCAA Tournament this weekend in Rochester, New York. Freshman Emily Hart was tabbed to the All-Rookie team following a standout first year with the squad.
Chewens made the all-tournament team at the Mid States Classic, Lewis Flyer Classic, Music City Classic, claimed third at the TNBA Open and placed sixth at the Big Red Invite among her notable highlights in the regular season. Greene placed second at the TNBA Open, fourth at both Southern Queens and the Big Red Invite and was also named to the all-tournament team at the Music City Classic.
Hart was the MVP of the Mid States Championships, finished seventh at the TRACK Kat Klash, placed in the top 20 at the Lewis Flyer Classic and Big Red Invite and she closed the regular season strong with a first-place showing at the TNBA Open.
The Bearkats were selected to the Rochester Regional and will begin play Friday against Maryville. This is the 14th time in 16 years Sam Houston has qualified for the NCAA Championships.
