QUOTEABLES:
Head coach David Self on the men's championship...
"What I told the guys last night was this was their way to make their mark. This is the first team to win indoors and outdoors together. We were very fortunate. We were so close so many times. I am proud of these guys. We are trying to figure out how this happened. I really thought the men would be runner-up. They just showed up to compete across the board. Nobody gave up. We just kept our foot on the gas and finished them off."
Head coach David Self on the women taking runner-up...
"We're a track and field program. Yes, we're a men's and women's team but we enjoyed and celebrated the victory on the men's side but we were also hurting on the women's side, especially a loss by that close. You can look at 50 other things that the outcome may have changed. They kept putting themselves in a position to win. Someone would rise up like Ana in the 5K. She stepped up and did her part. That's what championship programs are all about."
Head coach David Self on the senior class...
"The seniors that got done with their eligibilty today were from those years before we started winning. They went through some hard days. We were that team on the outside trying to win. They laid the foundation. Everyone just showed up to compete and wouldn't quit. I am very honored to have the opportunity to work with them. It has been a long, hard year but we ended it on a great note."
