HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State Bearkats will look to continue a solid start to the 2018-19 season on Wednesday night when they travel to Wichita State to take on the Shockers.

SERIES vs WICHITA STATE
- SHSU and Wichita State have met on the hardwood just three times dating back to the first meeting in 1991. The Shockers have won the last two matchups after the Bearkats defeated WSU in the first-ever meeting. The Kats are 1-1 in Wichita, and 0-1 in games played in Huntsville.
TAKEAWAYS FROM 100-55 WIN OVER JARVIS CHRISTIAN
- With a pair of free throws by Tia Harston in the final minute of the game, the Bearkats hit the 100-point plateau in Thursday's win over Jarvis Christian. It was the first time Sam Houston had scored 100 points in a game since a 102-72 win over Nicholls all the way back in the 1994-95 season, a span of 671 games.
- Alyssa Osborne led all scorers in the game, reaching double figures for the first time in her career with a game-high 18 points. She scored 13 of those in the second half, doing most of her damage at the foul line where she hit eight of 10 shots.
- Freshman Amber Leggett finished with 11 points and five rebounds before fouling out in just 22 minutes on the floor. All 11 of her points came in the opening half, including seven in the second quarter when the Kats outscored LSU 14-7.
- Sam Houston came out of the gate hot, with its highest-scoring quarter of the game in the opening period where they outscored Jarvis 32-9 behind nine points from Jenniffer Oramas.
- Led by Osborne's 18 points, the Bearkat bench outscored Jarvis 53-7 and has now outscored its opponents' reserves in each of its first two games of the year after also doing so at LSU.
- The Kats took advantage of their size against the Bulldogs, out-rebounding Jarvis 57-27 for the game, including 22-7 on the offensive glass. That led to a 19-3 advantage in second-chance points and a 40-12 advantage in points in the paint.
