Rain suspends Game 2 at Nicholls

THIBODAUX, La. - After another quick start, Mother Nature intervened between Sam Houston State and Nicholls as rain suspended play in the bottom of the third inning on Saturday night at Ray E. Didier Field.
Sam Houston staked itself to a 5-0 lead on the strength of a five-run second inning that included an RBI single from Jordan Cannon and a grand slam from Jaxxon Grisham; however, rain began to fall just prior to 7 p.m. and after nearly an hour delay, officials decided to push back the resumption of play until Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
Play will resume with the Kats leading 5-0 in the bottom of the third with Nicholls already having runners on first and second and nobody out.
The teams will complete Game 2 of the series with Game 3 set to begin approximately 30 minutes later.
