OTD: Kats open 1994 season with road win

Sixteen years ago, on Sept. 3, the Sam Houston State football team opened the 2014 season on the road at Jacksonville State and pulled off a thrilling victory.

With just eight seconds remaining in the game, quarterback Stacey Arrambide found Winschell Winslow in the end zone from 14 yards out for the game-winning touchdown in the 17-10 victory over the Gamecocks.

Running back Charles Harris rushed for 105 yards, including a two-yard touchdown that tied the game at 7 with less than a minute to go in the first quarter. It marked the 11^th time in his career that he rushed for at least 100 yards in a game.

Marcus Hajdik put the Bearkats on top for the first time with a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter, and Jacksonville State tied it again with a 28-yard field goal with just under seven minutes to go the third quarter.

Arrambide finished with 177 yards through the air as Sam Houston State snapped the Gamecock's 11-game home-opener winning streak.
