Kats to play pair of fall games, beginning Friday at Rice

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston baseball team will take part in a pair of exhibition games in October in preparation for the upcoming 2022 season this month as part of its fall camp.

The Bearkats will travel to Rice on Friday, October 8 for a 6:00 p.m. for a 12-inning game before hosting UIW at 5:30 p.m. on October 15 at Don Sanders Stadium. The game at The Don is scheduled for 14 innings

Admission to both games are free. No concessions will be available, but fans will be permitted to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

For those attending the game in Houston, parking will be free in the West Lot 4 beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Coach Jay Sirianni and the Bearkats are coming off a 2021 season that saw them go 30-25 and advance to the title game of the Southland Conference Tournament. The Kats return 23 players off last season's roster, while boosting it with an influx of newcomers which includes nine transfers from the junior college ranks and four from Texas high schools.
