Women's golf adds Grace Jin

The Sam Houston women's golf program has announced the signing of Grace Jin, who will join the nationally ranked squad next season.Â

Jin, from San Antonio, is the No. 10 ranked golfer in the State of Texas for the 2022 signing class.Â

"We are extremely excited that Grace is joining our golf program," said coach Tommy Chain. "She is a great talent with an incredible work ethic. She was not afraid to go low when I watched her this summer and I was so impressed when I saw that 6 of her last 9 tournament scores this summer were under par. We feel strongly she will make an immediate impact on our team next year."

Jin took the title at 2021 STPGA Prestige Tour Premiere with rounds of 77-73.Â

She finished 2nd at 2021 AJGA St. Francisville Area Foundation Junior at the Bluffs firing 67-75-77 and was 5th at 2021 AJGA - Junior at Squaw Creek with rounds of 68-77-70. She also posted 5th place finishes at the 2021 AJGA Under Armour/Jordan Spieth Championship firing 69-69-77 and at the 2021 LJT Texas Junior Amateur with rounds of 73-75-74. She had another top 5 with a 4th place finish at the 2021 LJT Bluebonnet Championship firing 74-

2020 was a banner year for Jin. She finished the year No. 1 in points in the Southern Texas PGA Prestige Tour, winning three events, and finishing in the top 5, five other times out of here 13 events. She also took 2nd at 2020 All-State Sugar Bowl Tommy Moore Memorial firing 74-73Â Â and 2nd at 2020 LJT Alamo Shootout with rounds of 72-76.

In 37 career STPGA Junior events, she never missed a cut, with seven tournament victories and 22 total top three finishes.Â
