TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Courtney Cleveland pumped in 23 points, but Sam Houston could not get much else going on Monday morning as the Alabama Crimson Tide handed the Bearkats a 84-50 defeat at Coleman Coliseum.
Cleveland hit 10 of her 17 shots from the floor and added four rebounds, setting a new season high in scoring in the process; however, she was the only Bearkat (4-5) to reach double figures in the game, with
LeAndra Echi also adding eight points.
The Kats were right there after a quarter of play, down just 15-14, but Bama (9-2) outscored Sam Houston 53-21 in the second and third periods to open up the game, picking up the 800
th win in program history in the process.
Sam Houston will now return home to host Rice on Thursday, December 16. Tipoff is set for 6:30 pm and will be aired on ESPN+.
