HUNTSVILLE — With the Bearkats set to open the spring soccer season at home Friday against Northwestern State, Sam Houston announced its COVID-19 protocols and ticketing information Monday.
Â
Since the summer, the university began requiring face coverings on Sam Houston State grounds and inside Pritchett Field for all students, fans, staff, media and game personnel. For anyone who comes to Pritchett Field without a face covering, masks will be available at all designated entry doors. Socially distant seating is in place throughout the venue as well.
Â
Tickets will be sold this season and must be purchased in advance like the other sports this year. There will be no walk-up sales on game day and all tickets, including student and faculty/staff tickets, must be purchased/reserved in advance either online, in person or over the phone by contacting the Bearkat Ticket Office at 936-294-1729 before 9 a.m. on game day.
Bearkat One Cards and faculty/staff ID's will not be allowed for entrance on game day. Complimentary student and faculty/staff tickets must be reserved or claimed by 5 p.m. the day before each game. Students may pick up their tickets in the Student Activities Office located in the Lowman Student Center in suite 215 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Because of the social distancing guidelines regarding seating, Pritchett Field capacity will be limited to 352 for all games with a student allotment of 150 tickets. Seating will be "general admission" but all patrons are expected to follow all social distancing signage and guidance. Social distance seating is four seats and two rows between each group.
Spectators may continue to park at the Sam Houston Museum and enter through the double gates on the south side of the complex. However, new concession and restroom areas are now available on the 17th street concourse level.
Â
No pets, except documented service animals, will be allowed inside Pritchett Field.
