Three more named to soccer all-decade team

Here are the next three members of the Sam Houston soccer 2010-20 All-Decade team.
Ashley Alonzo, forward
Alonzo had a breakout season as a junior in 2014 when she scored seven goals and was named to the All-Southland Conference first team. She recorded a hat trick with three goals against Incarnate Word in on Sept. 28, 2014. Her 127 career shots rank fifth all-time in school history.

Alonzo got her real estate license after graduation and works in the Houston area as a realtor.

"Ashley was always a player who put herself in position to score goals," head coach Tom Brown said. "She had a breakout season the year we went to the conference tournament finals."

Allie Johnson, forward
Johnson scored 23 goals during her Bearkat career, which ranks third all-time in school history. She was a two-time All-Southland Conference honoree, including being a first-team selection in 2014. She also had six career assists and was named to the All-Southland Conference Tournament team after leading Sam Houston to the finals in 2015.

Johnson is married to Dalton Perry who played baseball at SHSU. They have a 16-month-old boy. She has been teaching 5th grade math for about three years.Â

"Allie was a constant threat to opposing teams," Brown said. "She always had a smile on her face and helped keep the team in a good mood."

Carolta Suarez, forward
The three-year letterwinner for the Bearkats started 22 matches and made 49 appearances in her SHSU career. Suarez tied for second on the team with three goals as a senior. The 2017 first-team All-Southland Conference selection's 11 career goals ranks 10th all-time in school history.

She is currently working on her master's degree in nutrition in Spain and playing professional soccer at Real Oviedo in the Spanish 2nd Division.Â

"Carlota took great joy in scoring goals and scored some great ones for us," Brown said. "She always was working to continue her dream of playing professional soccer back home in Spain."
