Kats record four top 20 wins

ARLINGTON – The Bearkat bowlers posted a 4-1 record on the opening day of the of the PVU Invitational and currently sit in 5th place.

The No. 1 ranked Kats posted four top 20 wins on the day, recording a 201 average in the five games.Â

"Today was overall pretty solid but we know we have a few things to get cleaned up," said head coach Brad Hagen. "This is an amazing gauntlet of competition that does nothing but help us long term and there's barely any room for a mistake or two."

The Kats had their biggest match of the day right out of the gate. They posted a 1,081 in a win against No. 15 FDU. They followed that up with wins against No. 19 Sacred Heart, No. 8 Youngstown State and No. 13 Tulane.

"If we build off today it'll all work out," Hagen said. "Wins are the most important thing right now and if we execute we'll be in play."

They Kats will bowl five more matches on Saturday and one more Sunday before seeding is determined for the championship bracket play.  Â
