Fans can follow along by following @BearkatsSOC on Twitter or via Live Stats. A video stream for the match is also available via Cowboy Insider, but will require a fee.
Curvelo is only the third head coach in the program's history. She was named head coach this summer after leading Prairie View A&M the previous four seasons.
Curvelo was one of the Panthers' most successful coaches in the program's history. She claimed a pair of SWAC Championships and led the program to two NCAA Tournament appearances. In her 12-year career as a head coach, she has taken her teams to the NCAA Tournament three times and once as a player.
Senior goalkeeper
Tatum Krueger, junior defender Katarina Baehran and transfer
Kailey Pena have been named the team captains for the upcoming season.
The Bearkats went 8-10 overall last season and 6-4 in the WAC Southwest Division. This year the WAC will not be split into divisions and Sam Houston will play every team in the league.
The Kats return four players who started at least 14 games last season including All-WAC selection
Brooke Jones, Baehran,
Landri Townsend and
April Bennett.
