Sam Houston adds series with Troy for 2026, 2029

HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston football has finalized another non-conference series as an FBS member, announcing on Wednesday a home-and-home series with Troy for the 2026 and 2029 seasons.
The 2-game series will be the first meetings between the two former Southland Conference rivals on the gridiron since 2000. The home-and-home series has the Kats going to Troy first, on September 5, 2026.
The Trojans will then return the game with a September 1, 2029 game at Bowers Stadium.
The Kats are slated to begin play as a Conference USA member in the fall of 2023 and have now have secured home-and-home series with Hawai'i, Colorado State and Georgia Southern in future years.
