Grant earns WAC men’s hoops weekly honor

ARLINGTON — Sam Houston senior Qua Grant has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Grant averaged 19 points and five rebounds as the Bearkats beat California Baptist 56-45 on Feb. 23 and topped Southern Utah 64-57 on Feb. 25 at Johnson Coliseum.
Against the Lancers, Grant scored 16 points and grabbed six assists. In the win over the Thunderbirds that put Sam Houston in sole possession of second place in the WAC, he scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down four rebounds.
Grant is averaging a team-high 13.8 points this season and 4.1 rebounds. He also has 57 steals and 107 assists, which both lead the team.
