LAFAYETTE, La. — The Sam Houston men's golf team placed third at the Louisiana Classics on Monday and Tuesday at Oakbourne Country Club.

The Bearkats fired rounds of 296-288-297 for 29-over 881. Texas A&M won the event at 14-over 866 and Little Rock was second at 25-over 877. LSU was fourth (890) followed by Louisiana (894), Texas State (902), UTSA (905, Illinois State (906), Michigan (907), New Orleans (908), SMU (910), New Mexico State (912), Denver (917) and Louisiana Tech (922).

Bret Gray tied for seventh in the individual standings with rounds of 72-73-74 for 6-over 219. Jack Randle tied for ninth after rounds of 77-69-74 for 7-over 220.

Samual McKenzie tied for 12^th at 8-over 221 with rounds of 73-74-74. Josh German shot rounds of 76-72-75 to tie for 19^th at 10-over 223.

Kristoffer Max tied for 30^th following rounds of 75-77-75 for 14-over 227. Ting-Wei Hsieh tied for 52^nd with rounds of 77-74-80 for 18-over 231.
