Statement from Bobby Williams on men's hoops coaching change

Statement from Director of Athletics Bobby Williams about former men's head basketball coach Jason Hooten's departure from the program:
"We want to wish Jason Hooten and his family great success as he moves on in his coaching career. Jason and I are very close personally and changes like this are never easy on student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff. I am extremely proud we made a very competitive offer to keep him here, and it will position us to continue to build on the program he has enhanced during his tenure at Sam Houston.
"As the search for a replacement begins, we feel this program is set up to attract strong candidates who will help us continue our success as we move to Conference USA."
