Batista selected to all-conference team

ARLINGTON — Sam Houston senior Madelyn Batista has been selected honored as one of the top women's basketball players in the Western Athletic Conference as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Batista has been named to the All-WAC second team after averaging 11.5 points and 8.1 rebounds in the regular season. She has six double-doubles this season, five of which have come in conference play.

She has 867 career points and ranks ninth all-time in school history with 663 rebounds. Batista was named to the All-WAC defensive team last season and was a preseason first-team All-WAC selection this year.
