Chambers racks up NTCA honors

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston's Elise Chambers has been honored by the National Ten Pin Coaches Association after helping the Bearkat bowling team qualify for the NCAA Tournament this season.
Chambers was named to the All-Central Region second team on Wednesday, and she was tabbed as a second-team All-America selection at the NTCA awards banquet on Thursday evening.
The Bearkats were selected to the Arlington Regional as an at-large bid, marking the 11th time in 13 years Sam Houston had qualified for the NCAA Championships. The Kats made it to the regional finals where they lost to the No. 1 overall seed McKendree.
