CUSA releases MBB schedule

DALLAS – Conference USA released its men's basketball schedule for the 2023-24 season on Monday and Sam Houston will begin its inaugural campaign at home against Louisiana Tech.

The 72-game slate tips off Jan. 6 and wraps up on March 9 with each of the nine institutions scheduled to play the other eight home-and-away. The 2024 CUSA Basketball Championships will be hosted at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Ala., March 12-16.

The Bearkats will host Louisiana Tech on Jan. 6 and Western Kentucky on Jan. 10. Sam Houston hits the road to play at Middle Tennessee State on Jan. 13 then heads to Liberty on Jan. 20.

Former WAC foe New Mexico State comes to Johnson Coliseum on Jan. 25 followed by UTEP on Jan. 27. The Bearkats travel to Western Kentucky on Feb. 1 then it is a trip to Miami on Feb. 3 to face FIU.

Sam Houston will play at Jacksonville State on Feb. 8, and FIU comes to Huntsville on Feb. 15. The Kats welcome Liberty to town on Feb. 17 then will play the Aggies for the second time in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Feb. 22.

A short drive to El Paso awaits the Kats after the New Mexico State game to play at UTEP on Feb. 24 before Middle Tennessee State comes to Huntsville on March 2. The Kats play at Louisiana Tech on March 6 and close the regular season at home against JSU on March 9.
