BSN launches new podcast

The Bearkat Sports Network has launched a new podcast this week focusing on the student athletes. Kats Eye is hosted by Jaylen Phillips (football) and Lewis Rowe (men's basketball).
They will cover topics that are relevant to student athletes including NIL, transfer portal and conference realignment.
As they tell their own Sam Houston stories, they will bring other athletes onto the podcast to talk about their journey to Sam Houston and also give their thoughts about what is happening not only in college athletics but other topics that are relevant to college students.
Phillips is in his fourth season with the Bearkats and has already received his degree in mass communications. He is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee representing Sam Houston at the conference level. Phillips, who played high school football at powerhouse Katy, is also the son of NFL veteran Shaun Phillips who spent 11 seasons with the Chargers, Broncos, Colt and Titans.
Rowe is in his first season at Sam Houston, after transferring from New Mexico Junior College. A native of Adelaide, Australia will give a different perspective as one of more than 20 international student athletes playing for the Bearkats.
The podcast will be available on GoBearkats.com and the Bearkat Sports app. It's also available on Apple and Spotify. There will also be a full video production available on demand on GoBearkats.com.
The plan for the podcast is to be released weekly based on the player's availability.
