NEW ORLEANS - Sam Houston opened the Green Wave Invitational with a 3-1 victory over Alabama A&M on Friday.
The Bearkats snapped a two-match losing streak to improve to 3-2 on the season. Sam Houston dropped the first set 25-19 then rallied to take the next three 25-17, 25-19, 25-13.
Alyssa Fielder led the Kats with 12 kills, and McKenzie Morvant added 10. Avery Fowler had 30 assists, and Hannah Baker finished with 16 digs.
Sam Houston will play host Tulane on Saturday at 2 p.m.
