SAN ANTONIO — Sam Houston picked up its first road win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Incarnate Word on Sunday.
Kennedy Baquero scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute as the Bearkats improved to 2-3-2 on the year. It was her second goal of the week and fourth on the season which leads Sam Houston.
The Kat defense had a remarkable outing. They held the Cardinals to only three shots, two on goal which were saved by keeper
Savannah Hall who posted her first shutout of the season.
Sam Houston begins Conference USA play next Sunday when it travels to face Jacksonville State for a 1 p.m. matchup.
