Football sets date for Spring walk-on tryout

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston football team has announced its plans to hold walk-on tryouts for the 2024 Spring semester.
Â
The tryout will be held on March 5th at 9 a.m. at Bowers Stadium.
Those interested in trying out for the Bearkat Football team as a walk-on must meet the following criteria to be eligible to try out:
-Â Must have a completed physical (see attached document) within previous 6 months prior to tryout (signed by a Doctor: MD or DO only)
-Â Must be tested for Sickle Cell Trait or show proof of a prior test
-Â Must provide proof of medical insurance coverage
-Â Must be enrolled in at least 12 hours at Sam Houston during the Spring 2024 semester
-Â Must be registered with and able to be cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center
-Â Prospective student-athletes must also complete information form (see attached links) prior to Feb 27th

A mandatory Zoom meeting is scheduled for Feb 27th 9 a.m. with invitations to the Zoom meeting only sent to those who complete the information form in advance.
