Volleyball releases 2024 slate

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston Bearkat volleyball team released its official schedule for the upcoming 2024 season on Friday with a pair of tournaments and four Conference USA weekends highlighting the fall slate. Â
Coach Brenda Gray is back for her 41st year on the bench leading the Kats and will get the season going on August 30-31 when Sam Houston hosts the Bearkat Invitational with Prairie View, UIW and Stephen F. Austin.Â
Weekend tournaments at Oral Roberts and UTSA will follow before the Kats return home to host Lamar and Texas Southern in the Bearkat Classic on September 20-21 to conclude non-conference play. Â
The following weekend CUSA play will begin in Huntsville when Middle Tennessee comes to Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum for a pair of matches. Trips to UTEP and Louisiana Tech follow before the Kats return home to host NM State on October 12-13.Â
That weekend set begins a string of alternating home and away series the rest of the way. Included are trips to CUSA newcomer Kennesaw State (October 18-19), Liberty (November 1-2) and the regular-season finale at FIU (November 15-16). The Kats will also host Jax State (October 24-25) and WKU (November 8-9) in the home finale.Â
UTEP will play host to the Conference USA Tournament in 2024 with play for the three-day tournament set to begin on Thursday, November 21.
