Adeyi named to Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list

MOBLE, Ala. – Sam Houston senior wide receiver Ife Adeyi has been named to the preseason watch list for the Reese's Senior Bowl, per a release from Senior Bowl officials put out Wednesday morning.
Adeyi has been with the Bearkats since 2019 and from the early going has been an electric and important piece to the Sam Houston offense. He missed the bulk of the 2023 season due to an injury suffered early in the year but enters his final season in Huntsville with 134 career receptions for 2,041 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Although most notably known for catching the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds of the 2020 FCS national championship game, he goes into 2024 ranking in the top 10 at Sam Houston in career receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns.
He also ranks 21st all-time at SHSU with career 2,525 all-purpose yards with a chance to move into the top 10 by the end of the year.
Adeyi and the Kats are in their second season as members of Conference USA and the FBS with the opportunity to compete for bowl eligibility in 2024. The Kats will open the 2024 season on Saturday, August 31 at Rice.
