HUNTSVILLE — For the first time this season Sam Houston will look to regroup following its first loss of the season this past weekend when Incarnate Word comes to Pritchett Field on Thursday.
The former Southland Conference rivals will go head-to-head at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available to purchase at the following
link, and the match is scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+ for those unable to attend.
The Bearkats began the season 2-0-1 including a 3-1 win over Houston, the first-ever win over the Cougars, and a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Houston Christian. Another former Southland Conference foe, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, handed Sam Houston its first setback, a 2-1 Islander win at home on Aug. 25.
The Kats wrap up their tour of the SLC with a stop in Beaumont on Sunday to face Lamar at 7 p.m. This game is also set to be streamed on ESPN+.
Landri Townsend leads Sam Houston with three goals this season, including two game winners against Houston and HCU. The goals moved her into seventh on the all-time list with 16 career goals scored.
Gabrielle Williams has two goals, both equalizers in the wins over the Cougars and Huskies.
