Kats bolster offense with transfer

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston women's soccer team has added a versatile student-athlete with Division I experience for next season, head coach Sonia Curvelo announced Monday.

Kamara Bradley, a former leading offensive threat at Prairie View, is transferring to Sam Houston where she will be eligible to play in the fall of 2025. The Roanoke, Texas product was also a prep standout at Byron Nelson High School.

"I am excited about the signing of Kamara," Curvelo said. "She will offer us something special on the field as a forward. She is capable of beating defenders with confidence through utilizing her strengths as a player and scoring. She has an eye for the goal, and we look forward to her addition."

Bradley was the Panthers' leading goal scorer in 2022, led the team in assists in and led the team in shots the past three years. In high school, she was a multiple all-district selection and Midfield Player of the Year in 2021. "(Bradley) was a player that I had original recruited at Prairie View before I took the Sam Houston job and did not get a chance to coach her on the field there," Curvelo added. "I am grateful for the opportunity to have her sign with Sam Houston and being able to coach her in her last eligibility year.

"She understands the vision I have for Sam Houston Soccer and wants to help win Sam Houston's first championship title together and maintaining a high level of play. Â She is the type of person and player that is putting the work to get better so the team can be better."
