HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston swept Louisiana Tech in straight sets on senior day for its second win in a row at Johnson Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

The Bearkats (10-17, 2-12 CUSA) pulled ahead early, taking the first set 25-19. The Bulldogs (8-21, 1-13 CUSA) rallied back in the second set, forcing the Kats to a deuce but eventually fell 27-25

The third and final set started with Sam Houston getting four consecutive points and Avery Fowler serving up two aces. SHSU was able to cruise to victory 25-12.

The Kats hit .375 for the match as senior Ella Folse had a season high of seven kills. Chloe Monson led the match in kills with 13, and Lauren Malone joined her in double digits with 10.

Fowler led the match in assists with 29, and Monson and Malone defended the court with 10 digs a piece.

Sam Houston will wrap up the 2025 season in Newark, Delaware facing off in a two-game series against the Blue Hens at Bob Carpenter Center. The first match will be on Friday at 5 p.m. Followed by match two on Saturday at 12 p.m.
