
Kats rally to snap skid

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston Bearkats erased a double-digit deficit to snap a 3-game losing streak with a 65-56 win over Northern Colorado on Monday afternoon at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
The Bearkats (6-4) trailed 27-21 at the half, but ground the Bears (9-4) down with a defensive onslaught which forced a season-high 38 turnovers that turned into 32 points for the home team. Fanta Kone had eight points, but led the defense with seven steals and doled out five assists in a strong overall game.
Pop Inmon led the scoring with 17 points and had five assists as well, hitting 7-for-11 from the foul line on a day which the Kats. Deborah Ogayemi turned in an efficient day with 15 points, eight rebounds and six steals on 5-for-6 shooting.
Whitney Dunn was the fourth Kat in double figures with 12 points seven rebounds, hitting a pair of 3-point buckets in the fourth quarter, the Kats' only made triples of the afternoon.
UP NEXT
The Bearkats will close the 2025 calendar year on December 28 when they host the University of Dallas. Tipoff time is set for noon with the game serving as the front end of a doubleheader at Johnson Coliseum with the Bearkat men's team.
